A taxonomic review of Korean native Citrus L. (Rutaceae).

Twelve taxa of Korean native Citrus were reviewed taxonomically. For this study, above 60 morphological characters in tree size, habit and persistence, shoots, leaves, flowers, flowering season, and fruits, etc. were examined. All of 12 Korean native Citrus were evergreen shrubs or small trees with spines at axil or not. The leaves of them were 1-foliolate or simple, petiole usually articulated with base of leaf blade, usually conspicuously winged, Leaf blade was sub-leathery to leathery, and its margin was crenulate or rarely entire, and flowers were axillary, hermaphrodite, and solitary. Fruit was a hesperidium with sarcocarp segments of pulp vesicles. Seed coat was smooth or ridged. Chromosome numbers were 2n=18 in all members. Key to the taxa including description and illustration of each taxon were provided.
