Systematics Section Kim, Chan-Soo [1], Moon, Myung-Ok [2], Sun, Byung-Yoon [3], Kim, Moon-Hong [4]. Two new species of Prunus (Rosaceae) from Korea. Two new species of Prunus (Rosaceae), P. hallasanensis and P. minima, are described and illustrated. P. hallasanensis is morphologically most similar to P. sargentii. Twigs, both surfaces of leaves, petiols, pedicels, calyx tubes, calyx lobes, ovaries and styles of P. hallasanensis are covered by hairs, while in the parts of P. sargentii are glabrous. P. minima is similar to P. japonica. But this new species have a pilose branchlets, leaf blade 1-2.5 ㎝ long and 0.5-1.5 cm wide, lanceolate-oblong to ovate, apex caudate or apiculate, base rotundate, margin lacerate or acutely incised, stamens ca. 40 and slightly longer than style, calyx tube turbinate, lanceolate, longer than hypanthium, margin dentate, apex acute and recurved.
