DNA Characterization and Quantification of Family Sapindaceae in Western Cameroon.

DNA characterization was carried out on sapindaceae in Western Cameroon. This was done in order to conserve the DNA of the plants in the family for future use. Four forest reserves were visited for the collection of the plant samples, this was then identified and authenticated at the University of Lagos Herbarium. DNA were extracted from all the samples using the CTAB procedure and quantified with the use of biophotometer and gel electrophoresis. The result of the gel electrophoresis was viewed under a UVIdoc machine and photographed. The DNA obtained were then stored at -20o for future analysis.
