Phycological Section Adesalu, Taofikat [1], Nwankwo, Ikegwu [2]. Diatoms of Lekki lagoon, Lagos, Nigeria. (SEM Examinations). Abstract Diatoms of Lekki lagoon, South-western Nigeria were observed monthly between June 2003 and May 2005 (24 months). A total of 239 (205 pennate and 34 centric forms) diatom species belonging to 51 genera were recorded based on light and scanning electron microscopy. Thirty are new records for Lagos lagoon complex.
