Systematics Section Cellinese, Nico [1], Smith, Stephen A. [2]. A first comprehensive phylogenetic analysis of the broader Campanulaceae. Campanulaceae are a cosmopolitan clade of approximately 84 genera and 2400 species. Up to now, available phylogenies have concerned mainly taxa within the Campanuloideae and Lobelioideae. We conducted a comprehensive analysis based on chloroplast and nuclear markers that included all major lineages (Campanuloideae, Lobelioideae, Nemacladoideae, Cyphioideae, and Cyphocarpoideae) with a sampling of more than 500 species. Molecular data was harvested from GenBank in addition to newly generated sequences. Results will be discussed and major gaps in our understanding of the evolution of this group will be highlighted. In addition, a preliminary estimation of divergence times will be presented. Broader Impacts:
